About me

In 1978 I finished my High School and joined the German Army Forces for 4 years, becoming an officer and studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Bundeswehr in Munich.

After that I studied Information Science at the University in Erlangen and finished in 1988. During my studies I´ve been working for Siemens Medical Imaging and also for infoteam software – my pre-diploma and diploma theses have been done in collaboration with these companies.

I joined infoteam software in 1988 as project manager and became a shareholder. Together with a colleague we wrote the book „SPS-Programmierung mit IEC 61131-3“ or „PLC Programming with IEC 61131-3“, which was published in several editions from 1995 on in German, English and Chinese languages.

In 1994 I joined Siemens as project manager and made my career in the fields of „Industrial Automation“ and „Low Power Energy Distribution“ as head of product management, strategy manager, head of R&D and post merger acquisition manager until I left in 2014. During these years at Siemens I have built up two startup businesses from scratch – power monitoring devices („PAC family“) and EV charging systems. I also integrated a Czech leading company (OEZ) for circuit breakers and related products into a Siemens business unit.
From my time at Siemens, I hold 11 worldwide patents in the areas of hardware and software.

After Siemens I joined TE Connectivity as head of R&D for „Industral Automation“ segment and became later the CTO for „Industrial“ business unit. Due to footprint reductions in Germany I left TE in 2020 for becoming a consultant, coach and trainer at AS&P. Main focus lies on R&D performance improvement and Agile transitions for our customers. Since 2023 I am working as a freelance consultant for AS&P and other customers.

Agile Way of Working

My first experiences with agile way of working started at Siemens in 2005 with a great mixed team of product managers and senior developers. In 2010 we used agile methods for designing a large software packet with arond 15 deveopers, which has been introduced to the market very successfully 2 years later. At TE we introduced agile way of working with the help of AS&P and successful pilot projects.

As a senior consultant at AS&P I learned much more about the full power of Agile and could train, coach and help many teams in various companies and branches with software, mechatronic and mechanical projects. Since 2020 I am a certified SAFe 5 program consultant and AS&P coach and trainer.
